Available methods to use the tool*:

  • Removed the parse response section as it’s no longer necessary with the removal of the regex list.
  • ShareX will attempt to automatically migrate old custom uploaders to the new syntax, but certain elements like regex syntax cannot be auto-migrated.

ShareX 13.3.0 – 2020-10-29

In the previous ShareX update, we upgraded the .NET Framework version to 4.7.2. Following Microsoft’s recommendation, we avoided hardcoding a specific TLS version to allow the latest supported TLS protocols by the operating system to be used automatically. However, after the release, we observed that even though Windows 7 supports TLS 1.2, it was not being utilized automatically. As a result, we had to hardcode TLS 1.2 in our code to ensure support. Consequently, the auto updater of ShareX is currently broken for Windows 7 users. To update ShareX, Windows 7 users must manually download the update from the ShareX website or obtain the dev build from within the ShareX app.

Improvements to settings save/load system to avoid unexpected setting resets:


When settings are saved to file, they are stored in the Windows hard disk cache. However, if there’s a sudden power loss or the PC isn’t shut down properly while the settings are in the hard disk cache, it could corrupt the latest settings file and the backup of the previous settings file. To address this issue, ShareX now bypasses the hard disk cache while saving settings and copying backups, thus preventing corruption.

Additionally, two more fallback options have been added when loading settings: the temporary file and the last weekly backup file. This ensures that if the latest and previous setting files somehow become corrupted or inaccessible, ShareX has alternative sources to retrieve the settings data from.
